Stephen A. Schulte, CP, LP, FAAOP
Stephen is an American Board Certified (ABC) prosthetist and a member and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotist and Prosthetists. Stephen is a licensed practitioner (LP) in the state of Georgie. Stephen and his wife, Amne, are the owners of Prosthetic Care, Inc. (ProCare). A native of Gwinnett County, he furthered his education with an undergraduate degree at Coker College in South Carolina. Stephen completed the Certificate Program for Prosthetics at Northwestern University in Chicago and has been working with patients and serving the medical community for over two decades. Stephen is a past board member of the Georgia Society of Orthotists and Prosthetists. He was chosen to serve as an on-site practitioner at the 1996 Paralympics. Stephen has worked with all ages and levels of amputation and is a firm believer in the team approach to meeting patient needs.
Russell W.Walker, CP, LP, FAAOP
Rusty joined the ProCare team in 1998, first as a technician and then as a graduate of Northwestern University’s Prosthetic Program in Chicago. He is an American Board Certified (ABC) prosthetist and a licensed practitioner (LP) in the state of Georgia. Rusty has served as ProCare’s Chief Operating Officer since October of 2013. He is a member and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP). Rusty is a board member of the Georgia Society of Orthotists and Prosthetists and currently serves as the Immediate Past-President. Rusty grew up in Columbus, Georgia and holds Bachelors degrees in Education and Sports Performance from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. He is married and stays busy keeping up with his three children. Rusty has worked with all types of patients, including upper and lower extremity amputees. He enjoys working with a variety of age groups, fom the young and athletic, to the active geriatic population. Rusty expresses it best by saying “I get the greatest satisfaction seeing a patient’s quality of life improved. I genuinely believe in the team approach to patient care, a philosophy embraced here at Procare. I’m proud to be a part of a team where patient’s concerns and needs come first.”
Kristin Carnahan, CPO, LPO, FAAOP
Kristin has been with the ProCare team since August 2009. She graduated in May 2008 from Georgia Tech with a Master of Science degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Before joining ProCare, she completed her orthotic residency at the University of Michigan Orthotics and Prosthetics Center in Ann Arbor, MI. She completed her prosthetic residency at ProCare and is now American Board Certified (ABC) and licensed in the state of Georgia as a Prosthetist and Orthotist. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP). Kristin is originally from Louisiana and graduated in 2000 from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. She worked as an engineer at a nuclear power plant in Waynesboro, GA for nearly 6 years before pursuing a career in prosthetics and orthotics. Kristin enjoys the challenges and rewards of helping people on a daily basis as well as teaching opportunities with physical therapy courses in the Atlanta area.
Laura Jones, CP, LP
Laura joined ProCare in 2007 and is a Licensed Prosthetist in our Buford office. She is an American Board Certified (ABC) Prosthetist and licensed practitioner in Georgia. Laura grew up and went to school in the Atlanta area. She received her Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2005 and worked as an engineer in Atlanta before beginning the Georgia Tech Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics program in 2006. Laura started with ProCare as a technician while in school. After graduating in 2008, she returned to ProCare and completed her residency in 2009. Laura enjoys working with patients to help them reach their individual goals and spends time with each patient to determine the plan that will best fit their lifestyle. She has experience with all amputation levels and activity levels. She has worked extensively with vacuum suspensions, running devices, and microprocessor knees and works with both upper and lower extremity amputees.
John D. Alexander, CPO, LPO
John joined the ProCare team in January 2011. He grew up in Alabama, and since a young age, has been inspired to design devices that help patients overcome the barriers of disability. This desire led him to pursue biomedical engineering as an undergraduate at Duke University, graduating in 2004, and eventually to pursue a Master of Science degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics at Georgia Tech, graduating in 2008. Before coming to ProCare, he completed his orthotics residency here in Atlanta, followed by prosthetics residency at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. John is an American Board Certified Prosthetist and Orthotist (CPO) and a Licensed Prosthetist and Orthotist (LPO) in the state of Georgia. John is excited to be a member of the ProCare team, where ingenuity, collaboration, and professionalism combine with a total commitment to helping patients achieve their goals.
Sarah Teal, CP, LP
Sarah joined ProCare in April 2013 as a prosthetic resident. Sarah is a graduate of the Certificate Program for Prosthetics at Northwestern University in Chicago. Currently, Sarah is a certified athletic trainer with a Bachelors degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Georgia Southern University. After working for 4 years in the durable medical equipment industry, Sarah decided to pursue a career in prosthetics. She has gone on to become a certified prosthetist with the American Board for Certification (ABC) and is licensed in the state of Georgia as a prosthetist (LP). Sarah is excited to be a part of the ProCare team and feels lucky to have the opportunity to learn under so many experienced practitioners. Sarah truly enjoys “making it possible” for patients of all ages and is dedicated to meeting the goals and needs of each individual person.
Jaime Grubbs, CPO, LPO
Jaime joined ProCare in April 2014. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering at Rice University in Houston, TX. She then graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center with a Master’s degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. She completed her orthotic and prosthetic residencies in Chattanooga, TN and specialized in pediatric orthotics. Jaime is American Board Certified (ABC), prosthetist/orthotist (CPO) and licensed in the state of Georgia as a prosthetist/orthotist(LPO). Jaime works in the Conyers office and lives in the Atlanta area with her husband, Shane.
Shane Grubbs, CPO, LPO
Shane joined ProCare as a prosthetist in February of 2014. He holds a bachelor degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas and graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center with a Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics. Prior to joining ProCare, Shane completed his residencies and worked for a non-profit hospital in North Carolina that specialized in rehabilitation. Shane is an American Board Certified (ABC) prosthetist/orthotist and licensed in the state of Georgia as a prosthetist/orthotist (LPO).
Seth Smith, CPO, LPO
Seth joined ProCare in June 2015 as a resident prosthetist. He now serves the Midtown office as an American Board Certified (ABC) and Georgia Licensed Prosthetist/Orthotist (CPO, LPO). Seth was born and raised in Lawrenceville, GA and obtained his Bachelors of Science in Biology at Berry College in Rome, GA in 2011. While in Rome, he was introduced to and fell in love with the O&P field. He found an internship for a small O&P company and was soon hired on as a technician. He then attended Georgia Institute of Technology to obtain his Masters of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO) in 2014. He completed his orthotic residency in Chattanooga, TN, or as he refers to it, “My second home.” Seth brings a passion and energy to the ProCare team and loves to celebrate his patients’ success.
Andrew Nash, Resident Prosthetist
Andrew joined ProCare in January of 2017 as a board eligible orthotist and prosthetic resident. He graduated from Berea College with a Bachelors in Exercise Science and pursued a career in track and field coaching prior to attending the University of Texas Southwestern to earn a Masters of Prosthetics and Orthotics. Andrew enjoys helping patients go above and beyond their expectations and is excited to work with the ProCare family.
Steve Anchors, Resident Prosthetist
Steve joined ProCare in September 2016 as a Certified Orthotist and Prosthetic Resident. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, and pursued a career in manufacturing and sales before returning to Georgia Tech to earn his Master of Science degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Steve appreciates the opportunity to work with patients and help them reach their goals, and is delighted to be a member of the ProCare team.
Kat King, LO, Board Eligible Prosthetist
Kat is an Atlanta native and graduate of Georgia Tech with both a Bachelors degree in Industrial Design and a Masters Degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. She completed her orthotics residency at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and her prosthetics residency at the University of Michigan Orthotics and Prosthetics Center. Kat loves helping patients reach their full potential, and she is thrilled to be a part of the ProCare team.
Our Early Intervention and Patient Education Team
ProCare has a specialized team, comprised of amputees and a licensed counselor, dedicated solely to early intervention and patient education. We want our patients, as well as their families, to be equipped with the knowledge and support to make lifelong decisions for their future.Through close relationships with Therapists and Rehab Facilities, we promote a continuous and efficient team rehabilitation environment that enables amputees to safely reach their goals in the shortest period of time.
Our Administrative Team
ProCare has a dedicated team of Patient Advocates who work closely with patients to act as a voice when dealing with insurance and workers compensation claims. Having these advocates drastically accelerates the approval process and helps ensure patients can be fitted as soon as possible with their devices.
Our Technical Team
ProCare’s satellite locations are set up for complete on-site fabrication. Our technicians aid our practitioners in designing each and every device to ensure the best fit and function for each patient.
